How to Care for Your Custom Night Guard

How to Wear Your Night Guard

Consistency is key! A night guard only works when you wear it regularly.

  • Wear your night guard every night while sleeping.
  • If you’re adjusting, wear it a few hours during the day and gradually build up to full-night use.
  • Rinse with cool or lukewarm water before placing it in your mouth.
  • Do not bite it into place — use your fingers to gently press it over your teeth.
  • Avoid hot water, mouthwash, or denture cleaner — they can damage the material.
💡 Tip
Dogs love night guards! Always store your guard in a case and keep it out of your pet’s reach.

Daily Cleaning Instructions

Just like your teeth, your night guard needs daily care to stay clean and odor-free.

  1. 1
Rinse immediately after removal with lukewarm water to remove plaque and saliva.
  2. 2
Brush gently using a soft-bristled toothbrush and liquid dish soap (not toothpaste).
  3. 3
Air-dry completely before placing it in its case. Lay it flat on a clean, dry towel.
🚫 Important
Do not store your guard wet or wrapped in tissue/paper towels — it may be thrown away accidentally or grow bacteria.
🫧

Deep Cleaning Instructions

To keep your guard fresh and hygienic, deep clean at least once a month (weekly if possible).

How to deep clean your night guard

  1. 1
Soak in white vinegar (non-metal bowl) for 30 minutes.
  2. 2
    Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
  3. 3
Soak in hydrogen peroxide for another 30 minutes.
  4. 4
Rinse well and let it air dry completely before storing.

Clean the storage case every few days with dish soap and let it dry fully before reuse.
